Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder. Patients with diabetes show impaired blood glucose regulation. Nutrition plays a pivotal role in diabetes management by influencing control of blood sugar levels, sensitivity to insulin, and metabolic health. The effective nutritional interventions in diabetes management are necessary to prevent complications in diabetic patients. This paper explores the nutritional interventions in diabetes management. Additionally, specific nutritional interventions—such as fiber intake, omega-3 fatty acids, and antioxidants—are examined for their potential benefits in improving glycemic control and reducing inflammation. The importance of macronutrient distribution, glycemic index considerations, and tailored nutritional strategies for different types of diabetes are also discussed. Given the growing prevalence of diabetes worldwide, understanding the role of evidence-based nutritional interventions is essential for optimizing patient care and informing public health initiatives. Future research should further explore personalized nutrition approaches and the long-term effects of dietary modifications on diabetes progression and complications.
