The Effects of Exercise on Skeletal Muscle

This study explores the multifaceted impacts of different types of exercise and durations on skeletal muscle, while systematically analyzing the mechanisms of exercise-induced injuries and their recovery processes. The results indicate that concentric contractions primarily enhance muscle explosiveness, whereas eccentric contractions show more pronounced effects in promoting muscle hypertrophy and accelerating recovery. Isometric contractions significantly contribute to increasing muscle endurance and stability. Moreover, short-duration high-intensity exercise effectively activates fast-twitch muscle fibers, promoting strength gains, while moderate-duration exercise helps enhance muscle endurance and improves oxygen delivery efficiency. Long-duration endurance training optimizes aerobic metabolism and significantly improves muscle endurance. Regarding exercise-related injuries, insufficient muscle strength, poor flexibility, and limited endurance are critical factors contributing to injury occurrence. However, scientific training methods, appropriate recovery strategies, and sufficient warm-up and stretching can effectively reduce the risk of injury. This study provides a solid scientific basis for exercise training, muscle rehabilitation, and injury prevention, offering significant theoretical and practical value.
