Traffic congestion avoidance and evacuation system based on digital twin and IoV

This paper explores the current development of the Internet of vehicles (IoV) and its future potential when combined with digital twin technology. It proposes a traffic congestion evacuation and planning strategy based on digital twins to enhance urban traffic management and prevent congestion. The evacuation strategy is implemented by dynamically adjusting intersection signal light changes, while the traffic planning strategy optimizes vehicle navigation within the IoV system. By leveraging real-time data and simulation capabilities of digital twins, the proposed approach aims to improve traffic flow efficiency and reduce congestion risks. Finally, a case study is conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness and practicality of the proposed method.
