Analysis of Dietary Characteristics of Chinese Elderly with Alzheimer's Disease

In recent years, there has been an increasing discussion about the high cost of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) treatment, which imposes a great financial, physical, and psychological burden on patients' families. With the increasing number of studies on AD, more and more nutrients and dietary patterns have been associated with AD, and more and more dietary patterns have been applied to the prevention and intervention of AD, providing new ideas in nutrition for the treatment and intervention of AD. This article, based on the dietary patterns of the elderly in China, gradually analyzes the diet and nutrition deficiencies of the elderly in China, and summarizes the latest research on the relationship between nutrition and AD, in an attempt to contribute to the treatment and intervention of AD in terms of nutrition, and provide a new reference for the diet of AD patients. However, the number of studies and surveys on dietary patterns of the Chinese elderly is relatively small, and the suitability of these dietary patterns for the Chinese elderly is still questionable. There are also few surveys and analyses on cognitive function of the elderly in China and even in East Asia. It is expected that dietary patterns and cognitive impairment in China and East Asia will be paid attention to in the future, more studies on dietary patterns and AD in the elderly in China and even in East Asia are expected in the future.
